Juror Peter E. Brandi
Peter Brandi has been a respected interior and exterior designer in the Atlanta area since 1979. He is the owner of The Peter Brandi Gallery and Interiors, located at 940 Canton Street, Roswell, GA, specializing in original oil paintings. Brandi’s gallery was voted #1 in the “Roswell’s Best” 2006 publication for retail art. Mr. Brandi started his career on Eastern Long Island, New York. He was awarded many art scholarships and eventually attended Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL where he received his BA in Fine Arts and later his Masters from Florida State.
In 1990, Mr. Brandi started his own antique and design business. As a member of the New England Association of Appraisers and a certified appraiser since 1985, he specializes in 18th, 19th and 20th Century Tiffany lamps, furniture, rugs, statues and porcelains, and fine oil paintings. In addition to the many residential homes and commercial buildings he has designed and decorated, he has presented his designs at Christmas at Callanwolde, The Atlanta Symphony Show House and the Atlanta Tour of Homes. His clients include such names as Michael Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Anita Baker, Jon Van Vleissinger, Harry Norman Real Estate, Vick Real Estate, Lyle Finely (Golden Gallons) and Ron Davis (Waffle House).
Eligibility:
Open to all artists 18 and over and residing in the United States.
Accepted Media:
Painting, drawing, print making, mixed media, collage and photography will be accepted. All works must be original and executed within the last 3 years. JCAC reserves the right to refuse any work for the show which is deemed inappropriate, offensive or improperly presented.
Awards:
Cash award: $1,000 for best in show.
Entry Fees:
Entry fee is $30 for up to 5 pieces per artist. Make checks payable to Johns Creek Arts Center. Artists also have the option of paying by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Amex). Electronic payment may be submitted by visiting www.johnscreekarts.org and clicking on the Arts On The Creek heading.
Sales:
JCAC will retain 25% commission of the sale price of all works sold in the gallery. Works not for sale should be listed “NFS.”
Acceptance:
Accepted works will be limited to a maximum of two pieces per artist. There will be a $5 fee per accepted piece to be paid upon delivery of artwork to JCAC.
Insurance and Liability:
Artwork will be handled with the utmost care, but JCAC and its members or anyone working on the show cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged artwork.
Publicity:
Images of works may be used for JCAC and AOTC marketing and publicity purposes.
Entry Instructions:
- Artists must submit work as digital images on a CD or as an e-mail attachment to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Images must be of high resolution and in jpg of PDF format.
- Save images (jpg or PDF) to a CD.
- Label CD in permanent ink with your full name, phone number, and the titles of your works.
- Entries must be submitted with a completed entry form, completed juror’s notifcation form, CD/e-mail, and check or credit card payment by August 10 at 4:00 pm.
Requirements:
- An entry to this exhibit constitutes full agreement on the part of the artist to all considerations set forth in this prospectus.
- Artists whose work has been accepted are OBLIGATED to bring their work.
- Accepted work that differs from images submitted on CD will be disqualified.
- The judge/juror and JCAC have final authority to define what constitutes an acceptable entry.
- Any substandard presentation may be disqualified upon receipt.
- All accepted artwork must arrive with legible identification tag affixed and proper hanging wires. Tag must included the following: artist’s name, title, medium, frame dimensions and price.
- If artwork is accepted, an e-mail with further instructions will be sent along with confirmation of acceptance.
- Upon pickup, works released to a designated person other than the artist will require identification and a pre-authorized release consent letter.
- Work remaining unclaimed after October 8, 2010 will become the property of JCAC.
